Can you feel the scary-excitement from here? (And for those that are new here, I live for the scary-excitement! It’s where all the good, forward-moving, right-path stuff is!) I’m putting my bet down on “Hell yes!”, as tomorrow’s the first-ever sold-out Etsy Success Symposium, where I’ll be presenting a workshop entitled Ascertaining Your Awesomeness and Articulating It Without Sounding Like an Ass! Here’s what it’s all about (just like the hokey pokey!):
Do your knees start shaking when someone asks, “So, what do you do?” Do you answer the question, “What do you make?”with a cough, blurting out “Jewelry!” and followed by an uncomfortable silence? In Ascertaining Your Awesomeness & Articulating It Without Sounding Like an Ass, you’re gonna make your very own Book of Awesome to house all the awesome comments that come your way, starting with your peers in the workshop! Once we’ve pinpointed the how and why of your awesomeness, we’ll dig even deeper so you can craft the most kick-ass elevator pitch in the history of all elevator pitches. Never dread talking about your awesomeness again! It’s gonna be – say it with me – awesome.
Tickets sold out a while ago, but I just got word that the entire event – yes, every workshop that happens in the Etsy Library – will be streamed all day for free right here. The line-up as it stands right now is:
Tuesday, February 8th
10:15-11:15a: Let’s Get Off Our Butts: Building a Responsive Business by Lorrie Veasey
11:30a-12:30p: Beyond the Comfort Zone: Practical Tips for Presenting Yourself Professionally by Vanessa Bertozzi
12:30-1:30p: Lunch and Keynote with Nancy Soriano
1:30-2:30p: Intro to Bookkeeping for Creative Entrepreneurs by Steven Zelin
2:45-3:45p: Attract Your Target Market–You’re not Walmart by April Bowles
4:15-5:15p: Ascertaining Your Awesomeness & Articulating It Without Sounding Like an Ass by ME! (yay! eek! cheers!)
5:30-6:30p: Reaching Your Creative Dreams: One Goal at a Time by April Bowles
We’ll also be tweeting under the hashtag #EtsySuccess, so feel free to follow along and add to the discussion during the day! And if you’re gonna be there and you don’t come over and say hi, I will be super mad at you and will stalk you regardless. This has happened in the past (I was told that a reader of mine came to Blog Out Loud 6 and was too nervous to say “hi”, so I found out her name & tweeted the crap out of her), so consider that both a threat and a promise. I’ll be there from the very beginning of the day through the very end of the day, so come make my day and introduce yourself!
